I sign a commercial lease which has 9 years to run at £11,000 PA I assigned it to others who have since gone ?

bankrupt the landlord is asking me to pay the rent I dont have it. What I want to do is borrow one sum to pay him off what would be a fair amount or one that would likely to be accepted?

In the current economic climate the landlord will have trouble getting a new tenant, so he may not be willing to accept a lower figure at all. The best person to give you this advice is the landlord himself.

You should also check with a solicitor to confirm that you are liable in the first place. There are a number of complications in this area, but don’t take the landlord’s word that it is you who should pay.
