I really want to know if i can get out of the lease as i cannnot afford the lease with VAT on and also my landlord wants to back date it for the past 6 months which is really unaffordable.
I took the lease because it did not have VAT on and was in budget.

Surely he cannot back date it. If you have a written contracts that staes no VAT then he cannot change his mind till your lease is up. You could also register for VAT yourself and claim it back but might not be the right choice for you, need to ask accountant or book keeper. Good Luck let us know how you get on.

Are you not VAT registered? – If so then you’d be able to claim it back.
