Can I renegotiate my lease agreement, with the new landlord?

you can ask for anything you want; getting it is another matter. the worst that can happen is “no”.

Abraham, that depends on where you are. In New York state, the existing lease’s terms are in effect until it expires, regardless of the desires of either party.

Certainly you can ask! You would probably help your case if you provide the new owner a reason that somehow benefits him…like extending the term.
If your only reason for for renegotiating is to get a cheaper payment, there is little incentive for him to do it.
